DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES:
The Department of Information Resources (DIR) requires the services of 1 ServiceNow Developer hereafter referred to as Worker, who meets the general qualification of Software Developer Emerging Technology and the specifications outlined in this document for Texas Department of Transportation.
As a ServiceNow Developer, you will be responsible for development, core configuration, administration, maintenance, support, and technical expertise of TxDOT’s ServiceNow implementation. You have a solution- focused mindset and the ability to provide excellent customer service, training, and support.
  • Research and design technical solutions and implementations of strategic technologies and other modules.
  • Develop scripts, workflows, and flows on the ServiceNow platform to automate tasks and integrations.
  • Provide software configuration and customization including, but not limited to workflow administration, report setup, data imports, integration, custom scripting, and third-party software integrations.
  • Develop and manage integrations between ServiceNow and third-party systems (REST, orchestration, and other relevant methodologies).
  • Assist and improve Service Mapping, CMDB, and Discovery processes including third-party integrations.
  • Drive initiatives to identify, optimize and automate manual IT business processes to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable IT services.
  • Build out scoped applications, customization, and configurations based on customer requirements.
  • Driving continual service improvement through establishment of best practices, reusable assets, and refinement of the implementation processes.
  • Monitor health, usage, and overall compliance of the application.
  • Provide system administration and support for maintenance and break/fix.
  • Perform system and integration testing. Implement changes across SDLC lifecycle.
  • Document technical solutions and provide training in knowledge gaps.
  • Work collaboratively with TxDOT ServiceNow team.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Configure and enhance core application, including, but not limited to, Service Catalog, Service Portal, Incidents, CMDB, Knowledge Base, and Reporting
  • Administration of ServiceNow platform, including issue and performance mitigation, and health checks.
  • Guide the improvement of IT support, service management, and managed services deliverables and workflows.
  • Establish and enforce systems design and architectural standards through communication, documentation, and metrics.
  • Establish and maintain the implementation of best practices throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Plans, develops, tests, manages, and documents system configurations, customizations, and integrations.
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently, communicating clearly and regularly through multiple means to operations, peers, and management.
  • Gathering and reviewing stakeholder process requirements and mapping them to ServiceNow capabilities with an eye to industry best practices.
  • Maintaining existing applications and implementing additional applications.
  • Upgrading the ServiceNow Platform on a regular basis.
  • Determines the cause of application or environment problems by gathering information related to the problem; identifies appropriate resolution options; obtains appropriate approval; and coordinates the execution of the selected option.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
