That's the problem of all Apple devices. I also have the same problem with Netflix on the iPhone. The volume is always too low, especially when you use apps. It's really so boring and I really can't understand why we users and owners of these devices cannot set the volume limit as we want.
I will add, however, I watch Netflix with just the built in speaker quite often and have never had a problem. If you have the iPad in a case, you could also try taking it out of the case. Could be partially blocking the speaker.
i have a simular issue i do use bluethooth headphones wired would make no sences for me anyways i tend to watch netflix at work just wondering if anyone found a way maybe to boost the volume? or maybe apple can try and step in and not let an update pass till the volume is rasied, or someone figured out the same old hack for the phat ipod WAAAAAAAYYYYYYY back when!?! lol
Im struggling for a while now but i am unable to find a solution. While streaming video to my Chromecast (Netflix, Disney, Prime) the volume is extremely low. The weird thing is that streaming audio (Spotify) goed well.
The actual problem lies that there is some sort of hidden volume slider that i can only adjust via my Google Assistant. When i say to another device to put my volume to 100% suddenly my volume went up
Just understand that this is not an issue shared by most of the user base, and there is nothing that the Tablo folks can really do except for doubling the volume, which would like cause more problems.
Your best bet is to explain your particular set up in detail (TV make and model, any external sound system, streaming device make and model, stream device sound settings, etc). Hopefully someone with a very similar configuration can help.
The Tablo team has already stated that this is NOT a simple fix. The transcoding is done in hardware, and the hardware does not have the option for small adjustments. Their ONLY option is to double the volume.
I am also using my TV screen as a second screen on my laptop. But the TV speakers provide a louder volume when used via my laptop rather than used just for Fibe TV. I have increased the Fibe TV volume to 100, but it is still quieter than when I watch the same show via the Fibe-TV app on my laptop. How can I fix this?
Ok, I found it. I went to Settings, Support, Remote settings, and then under Remote Control selected Setup. There I found "Receiver volume" and was able to increase it from the default of 2 to 8 (max is 15). That fixed it! Now I can get the same Volume ranges on my FibeTV as I get on the Fibe-App on my laptop.
On my TV I have gone to Settings, Device, Device settings, Device Preferences, Sound. There The "System sounds" toggle was already on, so I turned on the "Pass Volume Keys to HDMI". This had no effect on the TV volume. I changed "Surround Sound - select formats" to Auto, but none of the formats listed could be activated - I clicked on each of them. There was no "Slider" to adjust the default volume.
I am currently watching the same show on Fibe on my TV and on the Fibe-App on my laptop. I have the volume set at 25 on the Fibe-App on my laptop, but when I switch the Source on my TV from the laptop back to Fibe, I can hardly hear anything and have to turn up the volume on the TV to its maximum - 100 to get almost the same volume.
I can't find a "volume button" (or slider) in the Fibe TV settings on my TV either. Going to Settings, Audio and visual, Audio, gets me to the same Sound Settings as described in my Reply half an hour ago.
WATERLOO, ON, Jan. 17, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Sandvine's 2023 Global Internet Phenomena Report, the recognized authoritative source for global application usage and internet traffic trends, shows that global internet traffic volume increased 23%, due in large part to surging streaming video usage and continued growth in traffic across app categories, including gaming, cloud, VPNs, marketplaces, and conferencing.
In its examination of actual usage data from more than 177 service providers worldwide, Sandvine shows that the "Big 6" (Facebook, Amazon, Google, Apple, Netflix, and Microsoft) still generate almost half of all internet traffic, with Google and Netflix responsible for the largest volumes.
"Following the historic COVID-driven internet traffic surges of 2020 and 2021, the 'new normal' in application usage and volumes seems to be here to stay," said Sandvine Chief Solutions Officer Samir Marwaha. "The rapid acceleration of digitization led to an enhanced reliance on applications and a rapid evolution toward more sophisticated apps that fuse together multiple functions and features."
Among Sandvine's findings, video usage grew 24% in 2022, now equating to 65% of all internet traffic. For the first time, Netflix replaced YouTube as the individual app generating the most traffic, with TikTok, Disney+, and Hulu among the top-10 generating the most traffic volume.
"Video is almost to the point where it can no longer be considered a standalone category, as it's now integral to conferencing, gaming, social networking, messaging, and virtually all apps that want to drive interactions and engagement," added Marwaha.
To keep up with these unprecedented demands, telcos have expedited network upgrades and buildouts. But the onslaught of video, compounded by a growing number of applications with greater demands for latency, bandwidth and throughput, is exerting extraordinary pressure on global networks.
"As different OTT platforms expand their services and raise expectations, they can simply raise prices to fund service improvements, but the telcos that build and maintain the networks on top of which these services ride cannot do the same. It's to be expected that operators would seek regulatory relief, and the data in this report illustrates why," said Sandvine CTO Alexander Havng.
"Sandvine's Global Internet Phenomena Report shows very clearly that internet traffic and application usage will never return to pre-COVID levels," said CEO Ray Mota of ACG Research, who believes telecom operators will be more targeted about when, where, and how they invest. "Telco service providers have to look beyond basic network functionality and ask more than 'can my network keep up?' Instead, they have to ask 'how can I keep my customers happy?' By understanding actual quality of experience, they can more efficiently utilize what they've got and better target investments where more is needed."
To get customized network views of the categories and applications found in the 2023 Global Internet Phenomena Report, Sandvine can meet individually with service providers seeking to run networks more efficiently, and to build networks around app quality of experience rather than network tonnage alone. Hi guys. The Microsoft Edge is my favorite browser of all times, really, but not when I try to watch netflix or other video streaming services, it always breaks, I have no ideia what to do anymore. Always when I try to play something there's an error and then I need to reload over and over again, sometimes even when I just play the video it stop working when I try to play again. Help me to keep using this best browser that I've ever seen.
I've ever tried to disable hardware acceleration, enable DRM content, install Microsoft Silverlight and a lot of other things, but I didn't get to watch so far without an error I keep receiving these error codes: D7356-7701 and others related. Is there's still something that can be done to really fix theses erros or I just have to be patient and wait for news versions of the browser?

Due to losses in its subscriber base recorded in the first half of 2022, Netflix introduced an ad-supported tier in November 2022 to offset customer and revenue declines. Indeed, recent data showed that nearly one in three sign-ups to Netflix in September 2023 were on the ad-supported plan. Furthermore, while the subscription revenue of the streaming provider is expected to decline in the years to come, the advertising revenue is forecast to increase, showing the high value of hybrid business models to the streaming market these days.
I recently bought a Samsung UHD TV Smart TV and am using Yamaha receiver with 5.1 surround.
I had to install the optical cable from TV to Yamaha receiver and then set your receiver to
Audio-1 so you can then hear Netflix ! Good Luck
I cannot get any sound through my receiver when using netflix app from my samsung un55f6300. I am using ARC HDMI input and I tried an optical cable to the receiver. Do I need to change any settings on the tv, app or stereo? If anyone can help let me know. My receiver is a denon X400
Great article Eric, I learned a lot, and it was very clear. Method 2 works for me, but I tried method 4 with the ARC capability (tv, receiver, and hdmi cable have the capability), I activated ARC on both the tv and the receiver through the set up menus, kept my receiver on the hdmi channel, and it does not work: I still get the sound from the directv, with the image of the tv app (Netflix, YouTube, etc.) I have no idea why this does not work ?
