Dear friends,

I am finishing my final year in computer science and I ve been working
hard for the past few years, and I came up with lots of ideas. Didn't
know that such system existed until I thought it would be a good idea
to have a social network that doesn't make you to store your data on
their website. As I was investigating how to make this possible I came
up with NoseRub as well DSNP, StatusNet and so on but I can figure out
the differences and what I was aiming to develop might be different.

I was wondering is is possible to explain me how the protocol works,
and how it can be incorporated in a web system that I have developed
with a different PHP framework such as Zend PHP framework.
Another issue I have and want to ask about it, is whether my NoseRub
own installation would work if my computer that acts a server for
NoseRub is turned off. How my friends will be able to access my
profile when I am for holidays? How exactly it works so that my
information is always online for my friends? If that's not the case,
then this is really a drawback.

I was aiming to develop such a distributed social network but I have
some specifications in my mind that are really important and I was
wondering how this protocol works so that I can have an insight in
this technologies and be able to implement them on a different php
framework.

Please let me know with all the related information you can give me to
make this possible.

Thanks,
Michael

I am very interested in this subject that I studied a lot. I'd love to
collaborate with the functional and technical specifications. I also
have many references of similar projects. The best right now in my
opinion, apart NoseRub, this is http://www.webhome.org/. Let me know.
What I wonder is why such projects are all still!

Thanks,

Can you provide me with any other information ?

I will be working over the summer to implement similar system I will
let you know, but this is really important for the future of
computing. Imagine in 10 years time, what will happen if open source
project like this doesn't exist. Proprietary systems will die
eventually some time in the future. Open source cloud computing and
distributed social networks must exist.
