CNC query

Hey guys - recently moved to Norwich and trying to find a CNC machine to play with - do you guys have one and a knowledge person who can prevent me wrecking it? (!)

Essentially looking to build small enclosures for electronics projects.

Hi Dave,

Norwich Hackspace has CNC machines and a laser cutter which may or may not meet your needs. There are people who can guide you in their use.

If you come down to the Hackspace (Lion House, 20-28 Muspole Street, NR3 1 DJ) on a Monday evening between 7 and 9pm some one (probably me) will be there to show you around.

If you are making electronic projects you may find like minded members here at the Hackspace.

Hi Dave.

I have been machining ABS enclosure lids (3 mm thick) on a desktop 1380 CNC machine. Will attach picture. I machine a LED display slot, slots for keypad and a cutout for a switch. Can offer advise. Mike

Hi Dave,

I am not a user of the CNC, I like watching others using it hence cannot really give any advice.

It is a shame it is ABS as that is not laser cutter friendly.

If you come down any Monday evening you can see what we have to offer.

Thanks Alan - I have another project I'd need to use the laser cutter for. What days are you guys open? Just Monday evenings?
