The City of Duluth has signed a three year contract with a sketchy national group that "cleans up city streets".  Unfortunately part of that "clean up" sometimes includes driving homeless folks away from business districts.  They were recently caught on camera beating a homeless man in Berkeley.  Below is a sample facebook post that we're asking folks to copy and paste on their facebook pages.  Feel free to tweak the text and make it your own if you like.  Our goal is to make this go viral locally.  Once awareness is raised about the dark underside of this group, we'll be in a better position to either reign in this group, or perhaps even get it kicked out of town.  Thanks in advance for your help!

PLEASE READ & SHARE: Block By Block is the national organization that the Duluth Greater Downtown Council is working with to "clean up the streets”. Earlier this month the Duluth City Council voted to give Block by Block $300,000 over three years to do their thing. While that may sound innocent enough, this group doesn’t just pick up trash and plant flower beds. Check out this ABC story of Block by Block “ambassadors” beating up a homeless man in Berkeley: https://abc7news.com/.../alleged-beating-of.../578963/

We should be seriously concerned about this group, which seems to view homeless folks as an eye sore to be pushed away from merchants by any means necessary. Help spread the word about the dark side of Block by Block, and demand that Duluth seriously re-consider its relationship with Block by Block!
