Potential meetups:
LinuxFest NorthWest (Bellingham, April 26,27,
http://linuxfestnorthwest.org/)
Mid-June in Victoria
OSCON/FOSSCoach (Portland, July 21-15, http://goodcamp.org/)
Late-August/Early-Sept in Vancouver
FSOSS 2008 (Toronto, October, http://fsoss.senecac.on.ca/)
Topic ideas:
- patches, who has them, what do they do, who else can benefit, what can
we push back to Mozilla?
- build systems, lets do an overview of everyone's build systems,
pros/cons, is there something we can integrate into a singular "xul app"
build system, or are we different enough that it isn't easy? At the
least, there may be pieces we can learn from each other.
- developer tools
- for extension authors: how can we make it easier for our users to
write extensions for our applications?
- for ourselves: can Komodo fill a niche in the xul app arena? what
is needed, are there shortcuts to getting there?
- common problems: can we create a list of common problems that xul app
devs have, find potential solutions, and present that to Mozilla? I
think further awareness for Mozilla of outside issues in xul app
development would be useful, but am not sure what it would accomplish,
or if it would even be new information.
Mid-June would work for me as well. Looking forward to it.
Will be going hard on the extension development until then, so I’ll have lots to discuss.
