Winter Newsletter - 4.7.2025
The team is back from Spring Break, working hard to hit First Drive on Saturday, April 12. In preparation, the team tested the drive-critical electrical components to see if the system would work as expected with 600V. All but one segment was assembled, with the last being worked on after some wire bonds were broken. Nonetheless, the team was able to power the drivetrain off of 400V, which is four fully assembled segments out of a total of five. While the team determines next steps for the fifth segment, they will push on with four segments to get the system ready for first drive.
On the mechanical side, members were busy making some of the last few things for First Drive, such as the floors. Chassis members worked with Aerodynamics Lead Danish Galebotswe to cure carbon fiber panels, which will be adhered to Nomex later to create the floors. Suspension worked on the ARBs and the second set of uprights.
