This week, Aerodynamics routed one body panel and sanded the nosecone. Meanwhile, Suspension machined an upright and all of the inner bearing nuts. Also, projects for anodizing are all machined and taped up, ready to be sent out to sponsor Automatic Anodizing.
The Drivetrain Electronics team successfully read data from the throttle sensors, enabling the electronic control unit (ECU) to communicate with the inverter and allowing the motor to spin. Debugging efforts are ongoing for the power distribution module to ensure reliable functionality. On the Safety Electronics side, Bender's insulation monitoring device was confirmed to work effectively with the high-voltage (HV) board, properly activating the shutdown circuit as designed.
On Operations, freshmen Shane Yankovitz, Cheresa Turek, Isa Melian, and Ryan Schubeck, alongside Project Manager Stella Heo, submitted the Business Request for Proposal for the competition. In the report, the team discussed the importance of sustainability and proposed ideas to make FSAE competitions more environmentally friendly.
