Hiya, does anyone fancy pre-xmas drinks somewhere in Manchester? Not a meetup with content just a chat over some beer. If so I'll do a doodle poll with dates. Also if you have anywhere that might be a particular good place to go then drop it in a reply here.

Sounds like a nice idea... preferably somewhere easy to get to off the trams is my vote if there is no close car park: I'm kitted out with a broken shoulder and Carole is due to have her throat slit.... so that they can remove her malfunctioning parathyroid!

What about that place in Stretford where we met up to arrange the Stretford Library Code Club?

Yes the Sip Club would be a good choice I think.

Hey Geoff, Steve - Ok SIP club sounds good (easy for train, tram, bus and car). Not very central so we'll do one in the city centre in the new year. I'll speak to them just to make sure we don't choose a date they've hired out for a big do or something.

Simon, hope this is good for you, right side of Manchester for you at least.?

I'll stick some dates on here asap.

I've ticked dates for Carole and I; Carole is actually in hospital 15th - 17th, so those dates are all out for us...
Our preference is for earlier meetings because Carole is looking after a 92 year old, and helps to get her to bed at around nine each night: you wouldn't believe the terrors incurred in attempting to arrange carers whilst she is in hospital... she doesn't trust anyone but Carole to do anything! [sigh]

Sounds like you're having a nightmare time of it Geoff!

Let's go for 6pm on Wed 21st. Hopefully it'll be quieter midweek and we'll be totally festive by that point :)

Nightmare?  Hmm... I think that would require sleep: something that I do not seem to be achieving much of at the mo. ;)

8pm Wednesday 21st sounds good: I'll have seen the diabetic nurse at long last in the morning, so I'll know exactly what I shouldn't be drinking—I'll have a quart of that. :D
