Hi and thanks to Liz Smart for getting the ball rolling and many thanks for Kendal College for hosting last nights brilliant meetup. I am also a Code Club pro volunteer and I would be very interested in working alongside Kendal College to deliver Code Club pro to as many primary teachers as possible. For those of you new to volunteering I would say this. Do the online training and try to get to a face to face training as well. I am going to ask my Code Club primary Headteacher if he wants to become a Star Code Club. If he agrees to this (the kids have already said yes!") then teachers, volunteers and potential volunteers will be able to come see how a Code Club looks and feels. NB Even though I am a teacher I do not teach in my Code Club. One of my Code Clubbers said that he would not come to it if it was a lesson.Oh yes good luck with the partial solar eclipse

You have so many hats Simon :) I'll speak to Dee on Monday to make sure she has the link to this thread.

If the Head has any questions about the Star Club I'm sure Colin (the teacher at St Joseph's Star Club) would happily talk it through too. I'll dig out the questions/details and email them over so you have them to look through.

Today we've had one newly activated Kendal club and two people from the meetup sign up for next week's f2f training - which is amazing !!! :)

Hi Simon, there's a blog post around Star Clubs and applications are now open for more clubs - in case you were still interested https://www.codeclub.org.uk/star-clubs :)

Hi Liz

Thanks for the update. I've applied for my Code Club to become a Star Club.

Have you any  news on the state of play for Kendal College. No news from Dee so far to date.

Brill :)

I haven't heard from Dee. I'll email her. I wonder about suggesting a day in September where we invite some of the new Yr6's & teachers down to the college for a coding challenge and get the new Yr12's to help out with them. If your around maybe you and Dee could gather the teachers at some point for a CCP type chat and after the schools have left we could find a pub for a volunteers meetup. Sound useful/doable?

Hi Liz

Thanks for all for your help this academic year. Looking forward to the summer break where I'll be busy creating resources for KS3 and KS4 Computing and attending Edmdocon 2015. Oh by the way I've just been made an Edmodo Ambassador. This is one of those rare ones that you can't buy or pay for. Up until September 2015 it has been invite only. There are 800 Ambassadors globally out of of 51 million users. In this cohort there were 2,000 applicants and only 153 made it through. Phew! I have to wait now until the Certified Trainer Programme opens up again.

Have a wonderful summer.
