Alas we won't be there. But we were last year. Nice place. The anchorage was quite a party scene during the day, but I think they mostly left at sunset. Here's my log entry:
We jumped in the kayaks to escape the noisy scene and had an interesting paddle around Cutts Island and then the larger Raft Is in peace. Came back and had dinner in a bit more subdued crowd, then wondered if the scene would quiet down enought at night. A glance at the chart had us hauling up the jib and sailing the mile or so to Horsehead Bay to sleep in quiet. It was a pretty, home surrounded place deserving of another kayak paddle. As the sun hit the horizon we anchored just off the entrance sand spit which appeared to be a small nature reserve or at least there were no homes there so it was a quiet, unobtrusive place to spend the night. We soon realized it was pretty cool spot because the high tide over the low spit allowed us to see the sea surface on the other side, plus a spectacular sunset developed over the empty spit toward to Olympic Mountains.
That view might be a bit uglier now with the Lk Cushman fire. Marilyn read it is the largest fire on the Olympic Peninsula since 1951. Have fun!
