I first saw Invictus at its Shilshole moorage ~10 years ago when I'd regularly walk there, it helped spark my interest in multihulls.  Then I had a nice conversation with Larry at one of our meetings where I learned about his boat and also that he helped build the ski club lodge that I now belong to. I last saw Invictus at Dagmars Landing a few years back and it was obvious Larry could no longer care for her.  Kinda sad to see the boat and Larry winding down.  I hope he is doing well.  Its seems that he and the boat played a significant role in multihulls and skiing in this neck of the woods.  It would be cool if some one with energy can save the boat, a tall order it seems.

I'm passing on this letter I received. Larry Christensen's Invictus is being sold/scraped. He would not give any information specifically about Larry.

I was wondering if Northwest Multihull Association could please direct me in the right direction for selling and/or scrapping and/or donating an Invictus 41’ Trimiran?  It is in pretty bad shape and has not been used in years.  I would like to get rid of it as soon as possible but I’m looking to extend offers to others who may find use out of some of it’s parts.   The owner of the boat, who is no longer able to maintain it, once described it as being a “heavy, old, amateur designed, home built, cruising trimaran, which (I) designed….Yes, the truth is sometimes stranger than fiction.” 

 

I have around 75 photos of the boat available.  It is mostly filled with junk but appears to have everything intact.  One of the hulls looks to be badly damaged, and there is likely water damage throughout.  I would be willing to assist in cleaning it out when it is taken but the most important thing is that I can find somewhere, or someone, who knows what to do with a yacht like this when it has run its course.
