There is are mooring buoys, a small dock, and shore side facilities. Anchorage is on the south side.

I know I'm a little ahead of the get-togethers with this one, and I'm hoping to see plenty of us up for the big R2AK multihull send-off!

But I'm wondering if anyone is thinking about joining the Fossil Bay rendezvous? 

I'm racing Weds June 17, so we're currently planning on heading north on Thurs - via Port Townsend if the weather on the Straits looks promising, La Conner otherwise.

The timing doesn't work for me, unfortunately, but I still plan to be at Fisherman's for the 4th if anyone is around ;).

There will now! 😂 

But, yes, we rafted up last time and it was fun. Had to break up the party after fireworks due to wind but were able to position anchors ahead of time to not have to pull them and move.

Oh I was confused as well! 

I'd plan on a raft-up in Fossil bay. There is a (relatively small) dock AND mooring buoys, but this time of year I think it will lean towards crowded enough the raft-up will be appealing!

Paul, I think we will have to anchor to raft.  The rangers prob would frown on rafting on the dock and the mooring buoys prohibit it. I’m headed south now and am in Nanaimo so plenty of time for me to get there.

Hi Mark,

   We'd love to meet you, but we're leaning towards skipping this one after all - it looks like a few very low wind days motoring up and back between my race schedule. :-/ 

We'll probably cruise a bit closer to home within low wind sailing range! ;-)

At the R2AK sendoff this weekend I met Mike Banner who was interested in joining (but unfortunately not on the Google Group yet! - invite sent) owns a Dragonfly and sails out of Anacortes also. His email: m.ba...@comcast.net
