Oh! Looks like we're halfway to having a multihull start at race week! I'm SO excited for this!

However - I'm already committed to crewing on a J/80 for that week. ;-) Be sure and drop by Jenneau 44i Keala (the J/80  tender for the week) and say "hi." If you stop by at the right time you'll get a frozen margarita fresh out of the Margaritaville machine!

Registration is open for the 2024 Anacortes Race Week.

This is an awesome regatta in Anacortes, Washington -- about an hour north of Seattle. It's five days of racing during the optimal window for warm, sunny weather with good breeze on Puget Sound. The water isn't as warm as Sarasota, but the parties are great and the scenery is MUCH better.

Most of the races are around the buoys, but there is at least one distance race mixed in. We could also ask the organizers for a few extra reaching legs. There are usually 60+ boats, but it's been a while since they've had a multihull fleet. The race chair told me they'd give us a start with at least 4 boats, and we already have a 760R and a Sprint 750 slated to compete. Here is the NOR:

Please let me know if you're interested, and then register!

Well I hadn't planned to sign up for this, but then Paul mentioned frozen margaritas. Undaunted just registered. I was on the fence after not leaving the dock during Round the County last fall. Figured I'm destined to be a full time cruiser, stripped of my racing status. But a week of late June races starting at my home marina? And Paul in town? I guess I HAVE to participate.

Who's going to help me make my boat go fast?!

YESSSSS!!!

The problem at Race Week is typically not enough wind rather than too much, but our light boats can thrive in that.

I appreciate Trevor already asking for reach marks - I'll apply some pressure also, as I know people. :-D There has been a tendency by the RC to set the same course over and over, and they already know they need to mix it up a bit more to keep people happy - what better way than tossing in a couple of reach marks?!

Someone do this!  Race Week is a BLAST.

AirBnBs are probably already booking up quite quickly - particularly ones within staggering distance of the marina.
