multihull Work Party: SailSandPoint April 20

Sail Sand Point is getting their fleet of16’ Hobie cats and their Hobie Waves ready for warmer weather sailing.  If you’d like to help out, info is below.  They still sail the Hobie Wave that we (Northwest Multihull Association) donated to them several years ago.  Also they have monohull sailboat fleets.  Volunteers can enjoy lunch, camaraderie, and Lake Washington view while helping with boats.   Thank you.

 

The next day is an auction for some other boats including some catamarans.

See following info on the Work Party at Sail Sand Point. Lots to do on our eight H-16's and seven Waves. Also, getting the boats ready for the Auction the following day at April 21, noon to 3PM So far we have one Hobie 17, and three Hobie 16's. All complete, and with trailers available.  May also have a Hobie 20, a Sol Cat, NACRA 5.8, and two more H-16"s.

 

As noted, please RSVP so we will have a good count for lunch.

Spring Work Party   Sailing season is just around the corner and we need your help to get SSP's fleet ready to launch.       Saturday April 20, from 9am-4pm SSP will be having our spring work party.  The to-do list includes moving Optis & boat racks, getting the Hobies rigged and ready to sail, getting the boats ready for the boat auction, cleaning, patching, and maybe even some painting.   The work party will be inside and outside, rain or shine.  Please dress for the weather in clothes you don't mind getting dirt or paint on.  SSP will provide a simple lunch around 1pm. RSVPs are preferred (they help us predict how much food we need and what projects we can get done) but not required.    This is a good opportunity for students who need to satisfy community service requirements or to introduce friends and neighbors to Sail Sand Point.  Not able to stay the whole day?  Just come for as long as fits your schedule.   To sign up to help, e-mail  in...@sailsandpoint.org or call the office at (206) 525-8782.    Volunteering = FREE Boat Use  Because good deeds deserve a reward, volunteer time can be used for free boating.  3 hours of volunteer time can be traded for 1 on-the-water excursion of up to 90 minutes.  Sail Sand Point is a community small boat program dedicated to youth and access for all.  We accomplish our mission by nurturing self confidence, leadership, and an appreciation of our marine environment.
