For those that wanted the answers to the cancer powerpoint practice questions:

Slide 40: Tumor suppressor genes are usually thought of as: 
C. Recessive in nature, acting to suppress cell growth and proliferation

Slide 41-42: Is this a balanced or unbalanced translocation?  Balanced
What chromosomes are involved? 9 and 22
Are the breaks in the short arm or the long arm? Long arm Is this likely to be a constitutional change or an acquired change? Acquired
How could you check? Bone marrow karyotype
If it's an acquired change, does the translocation pose a risk to any children she may conceive after treatment? NO
If it is a constitutional change, would you expect this patient to have birth defects and/or mental retardationNo because it’s balanced
