Hi, it's Mark Siddall here.

In my last email I told you that the award winning Steel Farm Passivhaus will be opening it's doors to the public.

Access to the open day is FREE, however because last year was so hectic, for 2014 we have had to put a cap on the total number of visitors. Whilst there are still some places left registration will close on 31st October. Please click HERE to learn more and to register your interest at attending the event.

If you are looking to build a new home, or refurbish an existing one, within the next 12 to 24 months then this is an event that you shouldn't miss.

At the Open Day you will learn:

1.      How to reduce space heating bills by 90% as compared to the average home

2.      How to reduce hot water bills by 50% through the use of appropriate plumbing design, taps and appliances

3.      How the fossil fuel used for domestic hot water was cut by 80% when we combined water efficiency with solar thermal panels.

4.      A key strategy for reducing electrical energy use by over 50%

5.      Good design result can in excellent standards of thermal comfort with little recourse for space heating

6.      How the appropriate level of ventilation, and careful controlled noise levels, can result in reduced risk of asthma attacks, reduced incidence of hay fever and other allergies and even reduced pain from arthritis.

7.      How the risk of mould growth and cold spots has been eliminated in order to extend the life of building components and create a health home environment.

8.     How the home robustly increases resilience to rising fuel prices and fuel price fluctuations

9.     How the home has made it possible to conserve fossil fuels for future generations

10.     How carbon emissions have been minimised in order to protect the environment and our kids.

I look forward to seeing you.

All the best,

Mark
