Hi everyone! It's Harry Ramsdale here. Myself and Sally are now staying in Summerhill housing COOP. There are two people moving out towards the end of March and we're looking for a couple of people to replace them. The house is in a really nice spot right next to the centre of newcastle, just off westgate road. Check it out on google. The rent is cheap and includes all bills except phone.

We have an applications procedure so anyone who is interested and would like a copy of the application form and/or a chance to come and have a look at the place please get in touch with me via my e-mail - harryr...@hotmail.co.uk

Regards

Harry

Dear Co-housing people,

When we started meeting last year I gave out diaries to those that wanted them, so people could document their thoughts and feelings as we went through the process of trying to get a group going. Myself and Dr. Jenny Pickerill from Leicester University have been researching groups across the country about the initial stages of getting a group going, the things that are challenging, and the things that help. It would really help the research if people could send their diaries to Jenny, either by sending the originals or photocopying them. (She will return them to you afterwards) Or, if you didn't keep a diary, but would like to e-mail Jenny your thoughts and feelings on the process that would be fantastic. I will not be looking at any of the material from the northumberland housing group as I was part of it. Jenny will analyse this information, and any findings from it she will keep anonymous, both from me, and anyone else.

With the findings from the research we hope to produce fact sheets that will help groups in the beginning stages of setting up a housing project, and to write an academic article.

If you would like to contribute to this project please either:

1) Email Jenny and she will send you a prepaid, special delivery envelope in which you can send diairies to her.

2) If you are happy contacting me, then e-mail me and I can drop an envelope round for you, as I have a number of them at home.

3) I will be at the green festival this weekend on the permaculture stall, and will bring some envelopes with me.

3) E-mail Jenny with your thoughts and feelings on the process - some things to consider are:

What things worked well?

What helped at different points in the process?

- How did this affect you as an individual?

- How did this affect the group?

What was difficult?

- How did this affect you as an individual?

- How did this affect the group?

Is there anything you wish you/the group had done differently?

In your opinion, what was the most important reason that the project didn’t continue?

Please make sure that the diairies and e-mails get to Jenny by the 27th of June

If you have any questions please e-mail Jenny at jp...@leicester.ac.uk

Kind regards,

ruth
