The co-housing groups in the North East are having a joint open day/social event where people can find out more about the different groups; who they are, what their ideas are and how far they have got with turning these ideas into reality. These groups will all, at some point in the near future, be looking for new people to join them.
The groups include
Durham Co-housing, Co-housing upon Tyne and Curlew Co-housing (who are looking to set up co-housing in the rural areas/urban fringe west of newcastle/gateshead, exact location depending on where a site is available).
The open day/social event will be on
Saturday 14th march from
2-4.30 pm at the
Mining Institute next to Newcastle central station.
There will be a short presentation describing co-housing, followed by
introductions to the co-housing groups. The rest of the time is to talk informally to members of the different groups and to browse information provided by the UK cohousing
network. Jo Gooding from the UK network will be at the event and able to
answer questions about co-housing generally.
There will be tea, coffee and cake, and the mining institute bar will be open.
People are welcome to come to the whole event or just drop by for a short time.
It would help us if you could RSVP but is not obligatory, you can just turn up. RSVP to

mining institute is about 100metres from central station, going towards

Unfortunately, it is not wheelchair accessible.
However, there is a lift up to the rooms for those who cannot manage
stairs. (But it is too small for wheelchairs)
Kind regards,
