Hi all,
Just to confirm that I’ve booked Bar Loco for the meeting on Monday 9th. 7.30 p.m. Hopefully after that we’ll be at the Star and Shadow.
I’m presuming that a meeting is happening – Jo and Ruth were going to talk to Wilf about a workshop so I imagine that will be the main topic?

Hi all,
Many thanks for organising this Lesley. Unfortunately I have to send my apologies now as I was supposed to be travelling back from Copenhagen that morning but now have to break my return journey to meet with an exchange student in Amsterdam, not now returning until the 11th. But please can I add/voice my support for:
Star and Shadow as future venue
Wilf’s workshop
A regular payment (however small) to the shared account to lubricate regular meetings and demonstrate commitment
Social events even if not everyone can attend! But obviously costs have to be scaled accordingly. As such, given that I got a very luke-warm response to the autumn equinox social, I’ve left things open and note paid £50 for the Brockwell Wood site (as picture). If enough people show an interest I can still secure this site (probably for less money). I can also secure the smaller free wooded sites. It’s a pity I can’t present the options in person on the 9th but as I can’t attend this meeting if anyone is interested/hovering - please email me to discuss.

PS – I’m totally committed to building cohousing in Newcastle in the immediate future – so lets work to keep a core group alive to this end!

I am afraid I have not been able to get to many meetings or events, despite the efforts of the organisers. I do very much appreciate the information flow that comes from the group, and would be willing to subscribe if that would help.
However in terms of practical progress I have noticed that the first step of the recently circulated '19 steps: how people typically start a community', is to choose the general community location. For me and several people I know, the ideal would be close to where we already live, Durham, preferably in or close to the city. We would probably want something a bit like the ones on this link http://www.lochdhucottages.co.uk/index Environmental concerns are high on our list of criteria, so no doubt we will need to look further.
If anyone else is interested in working on a Durham option please could they get in touch with me? If this takes off in any sense I would be more than happy to feed any learning back into the northumberlandhousingcoop.
