Hi all,
Just a reminder that the first Coaches' Clinic of the season will be held tomorrow at UTD. Attached you will find a map of the campus and parking pass. Please print out the parking pass and put it in your car window.
The first of 4 FLL Coaches' Clinics is this Saturday, September 21, 2013, at UT Dallas from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM!
FLL Coaches' Clinics are intended for FLL Coaches at all experience levels. We invite all coaches who are competing this year to attend. Rookie coaches will learn what you need to know to have a successful first year. Experienced coaches will have an opportunity to refine your knowledge and support the newer coaches and learn about the EV3 system. Everyone will have the opportunity to network with coaches working through a hectic FLL season.
Where: All the coaches' clinics will be held at the UT Dallas Science and Engineering Education Center (SEEC) in room FN 2.302. See Map (http://www.utdallas.edu/maps/).
Who: The coaches' clinics are for coaches, and possibly one or two lead team members. This should not be a team meeting. We do not have enough room for your entire team.
When: All coaches' clinics will be held from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM unless you hear otherwise, please monitor the NorthTexasFLL group. Everyone on this list should receive an invitation today. Please look for it in your "Junk" folder if it does not appear in your mailbox today.

I don't see an SEEC building. Is it the same as the Science Learning Center (SLC) building?

It is in the building next to it called Founders North or FN and it is FN 2.302. Don't go up any stairs, the ground floor is level 2.

It was great to see so many of you two weeks ago, Saturday. We are having our next Coaches Clinic this Saturday, tomorrow, October 5.
Where: University of Texas at Dallas, Science and Engineering Education Center (SEEC), Founders North Building, FN 2.302. (see attached parking pass and map)
When: Saturday October 5, 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Who: This Clinic is for Coaches and Assistant Coaches. If you would like to bring one or two captains of your team that is OK
What: Building Tips and Chassis
The second coaches clinic covers all the parts that come with your Mindstorms kits—white and blue. We will discuss how to build with the Technic beams, how the parts go together, and when to use different parts. We will also talk about the many different successful designs of chassis, 2 point, 3 point, 4 point, and treads. Finally, we will talk about the major trouble shooting points of the chassis, how do you make it go straight, how do you make it stop in the same spot every time, and how to make it turn consistently.
We will also have two fields available to discuss the game.
The other coaches' workshops will be:
October 26, 9:00 AM to 12:00 and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Beginning and Advanced Programming with Mindstorms
November 2, 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM Attachments and Tournament Preparation
Look for announcements on the North Texas FLL Group as well. You should have received an invitation to join the Google group. If you have not, please email me and I will get you an invitation.

H is probably the closest parking lot.
The SEEC is in FN 2.302. FN stands for the building, Founders North. 2.302
is the room number of the Lab. This is on the ground floor not the second
floor.

FLL Coaches' Clinics are intended for FLL Coaches at all experience levels. We invite all coaches who are competing this year to attend. Rookie coaches will learn what you need to know to have a successful first year. Experienced coaches will have an opportunity to refine your knowledge and support the newer coaches and learn about the EV3 system. Everyone will have the opportunity to network with coaches working through a hectic FLL season.
Where: All the coaches' clinics will be held at the UT Dallas Science and Engineering Education Center (SEEC) in room FN 2.302. See Map (http://www.utdallas.edu/maps/).
Who: The coaches' clinics are for coaches, and possibly one or two lead team members. This should not be a team meeting. We do not have enough room for your entire team.
When: All coaches' clinics will be held from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM unless you hear otherwise, please monitor the NorthTexasFLL group. Everyone on this list should receive an invitation today. Please look for it in your "Junk" folder if it does not appear in your mailbox today.
