Heritage Action for America

Dear BEVERLY ,
Last month, Heritage Action for America launched a campaign to repeal Obamacare. The first step in that effort is forcing a vote on repeal in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Thanks to conservative activists like you, 121 Representatives have signed onto Discharge Petition #11. If the petition garners 218 signatures, it would force the U.S. House to vote on repealing Obamacare.
Yesterday, Members of Congress returned from their week-long Fourth of July recess. Lawmakers who held town hall meetings last week know their constituents want this disastrous law repealed.
According to Rep. Steve King (R-IA), who filed the discharge petition, “Signatures on the discharge petition have come more quickly than I had expected. This has been partly due to a large number of co-sponsors on the repeal bill, but it also demonstrates the effectiveness of the efforts of the Heritage Action team.”
Members of Congress – Republicans and Democrats alike – who voted against Obamacare must sign onto the petition. If not, they are not really in favor of repealing Obamacare. That is the beauty of the discharge petition strategy – it forces Members to go on record.
Heritage Action’s top-notch government relations team will continue to push the issue on Capitol Hill. But wayward Members of Congress need to hear your voice.
I am confident that your support for our shared conservative values will make America free and prosperous again. Thank you for all that you do.
Sincerely,
Mike's Signature
