As you know, Rev. Betty Jean Goodwin is being installed as the pastor at Worcester First Church of the Nazarene on Sunday. Whether preaching, playing the drums or organ, dedicating tireless and skilled labor in the parsonage and church building, or "being there" in difficult times, Paul & Betty Jean have been instrumental members of the North Street Community.
We will be having a farewell on Saturday evening for them. Hope to see you there!
Peace in Christ,
Pastor Jeremy
Here's a note from Carol Newell re: the farewell -
Hello Friends -
As many of you might already know,
Betty Jean Goodwin has accepted the Senior Pastorate of the Worcester
Church of the Nazarene. Obviously, Paul will be going with her! She has
been the interim Pastor in Worcester now for several months and not at
our church but we want to wish them the best and let them know we'll
miss them.
SO...I know it's kind of late notice
but the only night that worked out for Paul & Betty Jean is this
next Saturday, Nov. 14. She will be installed as Pastor in Worcester
the next day, Nov. 15. We are going to have a gathering at the Newell
Gathering Room beginning at 6:30 for anyone who would like to come and
share some food and fellowship. If you can bring along something to
share foodwise that'd be great...I think the Newell family will bring
some spaghetti (made by Debbie Runion, of course!) and bread...some
chili sounds good..and/or some snacks and desserts. Nothing fancy.
Goodwin's aren't the fancy type...so just come and enjoy their company.
Another
thing I thought might be fun.....bring a small "white elephant" gift
that will remind them of Hingham...sea shells, stones from the parking
lot, a picture of your family, use your imagination. The idea is to
have fun!
I hope you can make it. If you see
that there are people I didn't invite it's because I don't have the
email address and I'd love for you to forward this on to people who
might like to come!
Questions....give me a call!
