14TH, 7.30pm on SBS. REPEAT FRIDAY 1:30PM AND MONDAY 2:30PM.

This week the fascinating contest in the Prime Minister's own seat of
Bennelong.

With the government struggling in opinion polls, host, Jenny Brockie,
talks to the Prime Minister, his Labor opponent Maxine McKew and finds
out what Bennelong voters want from the major candidates.

The Prime Minister holds Bennelong by 4.3%. Recent redistributions of
its boundaries have moved the seat further from its Liberal heartland
into more traditional Labor territory. But, unlike most ethnic seats
around the country, surveys suggest local Asian communities remain
strong supporters of the Prime Minister.

According to author George Megalogenis, who also joins Insight, "It is
these Asian-born voters, not the so-called doctors' wives, who will
determine the outcome in Bennelong."

Latest polls show Labor's Maxine McKew slightly ahead of John Howard,
but not since 1929 has an Australian Prime Minister ever lost his
seat. McKew is campaigning hard, but can she win over swinging
voters?

With interest rates on the way up, housing affordability and the
economy are top priorities for people in Bennelong. Special polling
commissioned by Insight reveals the other major issues concerning
voters in the Prime Minister's own seat.

Insight's audience from Bennelong has been carefully chosen to
represent Labor, Liberal and the swinging voters who will decide the
election outcome.

Bennelong voters are prepared to elect Labor candidate Maxine McKew,
even though nearly two thirds of the Prime Minister's electorate says
it knows little if anything about her.
