to Northshore Fitness Project - Kauai
Aloha all you fitness enthusiasts,

My name is Skyler Denton. I am a 25-year-old male who would really
like to help out on this project. I have read through all the
literature and posts I can find on this subject, and would like to be
involved in some way. I see this as an important issue for the entire
north shore community as a whole. This affects the personal well being
of many locals, part-time residents and travellers alike. I am a
strong advocate of having a specific place to go and focus on health.
We all live here to enjoy the outdoors, yet there is an enormous
difference between that and going to a fitness center with a purpose.
Both change lives for the better.

I would love to hear anyone’s thoughts on how I can be a part of this.
I feel I am coming into this picture a bit late, but I am here to
help…

Well said, Sky!  Kauai's North Shore definitely needs a fitness center.

The Kauai Athletic Club (KAC) is certainly willing to have a location up on the North Shore, but our frustration to date has been available/existing commercially-zoned space to rent/lease in and around Princeville, Hanalei, or Kilauea.

We could certainly do this KAC location as an interim/temporary venue until the Princeville Community Association's envisioned project is opened.  (Probably does not make sense to have two large fitness facilities competing against one another on the North Shore given the density.)

If anyone participating in this Google Group has a first floor, commercial or industrial zoned space that can accommodate a 4000 to 7000 sq ft fitness center, we at the KAC would certainly be willing to discuss renting/leasing the space.  You can always reach me at the contact information below.

In the meantime, Sky, Kauai Athletic Club will be opening a second location in Waipouli/Kapaa later this year to serve existing and new KAC members on Kauai's Eastside.  Look for an October or November opening.  I know it is still a "drive" from the North Shore, but at least it closer than our Lihue venue.

A great weekend to all!
