August 19*, Sept. 9**, and Oct.14.

FYI:
* conflicts with the just-announced Calontir/NS Eq. event in Charles City, IA
(see northshie...@googlegroups.com )

** conflicts with Coronation

The conflicts with notes are just to let everyone know attendance might be smaller

Balthazar,

Of course it is possible to bring in  new attendees to a practice!
New riders should have read the SCA Equestrian Manual.
The owners will need to show current Coggins results for each horse to the EqMIC before the horses are allowed out of their trailer(s).

The owners will have to contact the EqMIC before the event so she or he knows how many horses to plan for.  Unless the owners intend to arrive, ride, and leave, they will need some sort of containment for their horses during down-time.
This can be discussed with the EqMIC.

I hope this helps answer your questions.

Hi Balthazar,

Aug practice I think is cancelled.  However, I did speak with the Eq Marshall in Charge for Poor Man's Pennsic, and she has agreed to make this a practice, so you can attend with horses, we can work thru authorization.  I think Anna is on the list too but copying her specifically so she can get you up to date on anything you need to bring.

Reposting for Anna just to confirm, Balthazar can you confirm?

Alissende

Greetings Balthazar,

We would be most honored to have your group in attendance at our event.  The site is horse primitive, which means we bring in all our fencing, feed, etc.  There is a water buffalo on site close to the horse area.  We also have a limited number of corral panels available to make pens, as well as electric fencing. Please advise me as to number of horses and riders, your arrival and departure time and if you are bringing your own fencing, or if your horses would be comfortable with their herdmates in a large pen or are in need of separate accomodations.

Besides the negative coggins (please bring a copy to leave with me if you can) horse owners are responsible for bringing their own hay and buckets.  There will be a trailer to place manure into.  Most of us camp in the area where our horses are.  There are some shade trees, which we try to leave for the horses.

We don't require that horses have medieval barding, but because this is a regular event where the public is invited, we do require that the riders make an attempt at a medieval appearance.  That being said, something as simple as a tunic over your riding pants will do just fine.

Anna, EMIC

PS. Thanks Bridei and Allisende for your assistance!  :-)

Hello Balthazar

I don't know if we heard back yet.  Are you planning to attend Poorman's Pennsic this weekend either with or without horses??  Or will we see you at the September practice instead?

Cheers
