Hello everybody,

 

This is to say a really big 'Thank you' to everyone for making the Festival such a success again this year. Early indications are that this is our best year yet, with more people attending and more money raised for local causes than ever- we couldn't do it without your help, and more importantly, without you all being the 'friendly face' of the Festival!

If anyone has any suggestions as to any improvements we might make please do let us know, and, once again, Well done and Thank you!

Hi George

I thought the layout this year was much better.

The only complaint I have was that I had to fetch Lucy from the St. Johns tent at 10.30. They were working on her arm using mobile phone light! Also Sue's son Connor was being treated for something in his eye in the same way. The first year we made sure that there was lights in that area. I was concerned that had there of been a serious incident, mobile phone light wouldn't have been enough!

 

Well done anyway -it was a fantastic success!

Hi Carolyn,

Thanks for mentioning that - it was definitely an oversight. I worked
with Theresa and Roger (the generator man) to make sure that we could
meet the extensive power requirements for the stages, bar and stalls.
I'm relieved (and slightly surprised) that that all worked without a
hitch. The first aid tent (and info tent) never made it onto my list
- they are not really 'stalls' that came under Theresa's
responsibility - so I'm afraid they were forgotten.

If anyone had asked (even late in the day) we could have got some
light in there. I'm sure we'll remember next year.

It was fantastic - all the family really enjoyed it.

My only thought about improvements for next year is to see if there
are more ways to reduce the environmental impact of the festival. For
example, could there be recycling next to the ordinary waste bins?
And perhaps the catering vans could have done more to reduce waste or
offer it in recyclable containers.

Hello Katie,

Thanks for this.This is an issue that I personally feel very strongly about-
this year we used bio-degradeable mugs in the bar and china cups in the tea
tent- not much of a contribution to the environment! Cost is the main
factor, and given that we had a good financial result this year I am hopeful
(and determined) that the cttee will sanction putting aside enough money in
next years budget to reduce our effect on the planet considerably
