Hangar - ROW Operations Upcoming on Avenue F

Good afternoon neighbors,

The developers at The Hangar will be conducting operations on Avenue F near the current main construction entrance roughly from November 3^rd – November 14^th. They are working to install a waterline tie-in and meter vault. 

 Here is what the lane closure will look like:

 

 

The construction entrance for the crews will move to the south side project on 56^th street between Avenue G and Avenue H during this time.

Do we know if there will be any impact on the bus route during this time? They sometimes turn from Duval to 54th by my house, so I’m wondering about that.

How will they ensure that residents of F can actually get out of their driveways during rush hours?  The backup on F during these times is bad enough without the added bottleneck.

With a busy intersection like this, they typically focus on the early part of the day and avoid the evening rush hour.  It is better for neighbors and much much safer for their workers.  I would anticipate this to be the case, but we can get a better sense from them.  I am not sure how things work on the north end of AVE F but on the south end (51^st-53^rd)  the worst traffic we get – and it is near constant – is in the 4pm-6pm window – nowhere near as dense in the morning.

 

We’ll try to get some more information on schedule and pass that along.

Hi Christine, 

Here’s the response from the Hangar folks: 

Operations will be limited to 9:00AM to 4:00PM. The full road will be open during outside hours with use of traffic plates to protect the excavation. Alternative routes in and out of the neighborhood during this period are advised

Here’s the response from the Hangar folks:

We don’t think there will be any affect to the route, however, waiting to hear back about whether the bus stop nearest the site will be moved temporarily or if it will remain in the same location. Keep you posted.
