Hello neighbors!

As I mentioned last night, I will be hosting the first meeting for the accessibility working group on Monday, May 11th at 6:30 at Barrett's Too aka Double Trouble.

Also, I'm going to stop using the whole listserv as my main communication for this, so if you want to be involved in any capacity, please reply to me and I'll put you on my emails to the working group.

As a super brief overview, I started this group to complete an accessibility 'audit' (similar to the bike parking project Chris presented on a few meetings ago) of North Loop, because as a disabled person myself, I have been frustrated with the access, or lack thereof, in our neighborhood. This will definitely include ADA compliance & ADA parking, but I also want our evaluation to include criteria based on the access needs of us! While the ADA is crucial, it is still not perfect, so including access needs beyond the ADA and centering disabled voices is very important to me. Even if you can't contribute to the working group long term, I would love for you to attend to share any concerns or ideas you have about accessibility. If you can't attend but have ideas please put them in an email to me!

Thank you all for supporting this endeavor.

Warmly, Emily Landgren
