Subject: TROPICAL UPDATE

High Impact Weather Briefing for August 13, 2013

Keep an Eye on the Tropics This Week

Synopsis/Overview: An area of cloudiness was in the southwest Caribbean this morning. The National Hurricane Center has a 10 percent chance of becoming a tropical cyclone in the next 2 days, and a 30% chance in 3 to 5 days. Forecast models typically have a hard time developing unorganized systems like this. Some of the best models develop the system while another good model doesn’t do anything with it. Polk County Emergency Management EOC will continually monitoring this particular area, as well as,  the tropics and will notify of changes, if needed.
