1) The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence is now
recruiting for lay and professional members of the pilot social care
quality standards Topic Expert Group (TEG) on the Health and wellbeing
of looked-after children:

We are looking for a range of professionals (providers and
commissioners) at all levels with specialist or particular interest in
the health and wellbeing of looked-after children and young people,
drawn from, but not limited to the following:
• Education sector, e.g. designated looked-after children
teachers.
• Health sector, including, but not limited to, primary care
and mental health, e.g. Directors of public health, General
Practitioners, nurses, allied health professionals.
• Local authority children's services with responsibility for
looked-after children and young people services, including leaving
care services.
• Statutory, private and voluntary providers of looked-after
children and young people services including foster care, residential,
housing, justice system, education and workforce training and
specialist services.
• Other local authority and statutory services, private,
voluntary and community services working with looked-after children
and young people.
• Research community, e.g. academic research community.
Applicants will have experience of working with multi-professional or
agency committees or working groups at a national, regional or local
level and will need to work in collaboration with the TEG over a
period of approximately 15 months. Strong interpersonal skills and
excellent verbal and written skills are required. Applicants will
ideally have experience of guidance development processes and/or some
understanding of systematic review processes and methods.
