The main focus of this year’s March & Rally is to bring attention to huge number of marijuana arrests in New Year City each year. In 2010, more 50,000 New Yorker were busted for pot, costing the city more then $75 million. The sponsors of this event  - Cures Not Wars, Empire State NORML, CelebStoner.com and LEAP - call for the immediate end of all marijuana arrests in New York.

The 40th Annual Cannabis Peace March & Rally is dedicated to Cures Not Wars founder Dana Beal, who is currently incarcerated in Wisconsin on marijuana-possession charges, and Yippie activist Ben Masel, who passed away from cancer on Apr. 30, 2011.
