The Northeast Wood Energy Monthly Webinar Series Presents:
Short Rotation Woody Crops (SRWC) for Energy in the Northeast
Tim Volk, State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry, Syracuse NY.
Friday August 26 at noon eastern
Fast growing woody crops such as willow and poplar are becoming increasingly attractive as a feedstock for renewable, sustainable bioenergy production. The State University of New York has been at the forefront of developments in the Northeast US, having worked for many years on the development of shrub willow varieties, growing methods, and harvest schemes. Join us for this timely and interesting webinar for an overview of the production systems and potential for SRWC, including challenges that must be faced if it is to meet its potential in the coming years.
