Dear debate friends from North East Asia,

Greeting!

Starting from last year, GDS have been presenting workshops that gathering the best trainers around the World to debaters around China, HK and Macau.

This semester we decide to welcome more Asian debaters to our region. 


We are hosting GDS Winter Workshop & Tournament 2012.  3 Days for workshops, mainly for novice debaters, a 2 days for tournament. You can register for the tournament only. I believe it would be sort of warm-up before you guys are heading to Berlin later that month.

This is not a grand event, therefore social events will not be into consideration. But you are looking for good adjudication and practice before Worlds, you are going to love GDS Winter.


Details of the event:


Time: December.5th-9th

Location: Jinan University, Zhuhai, Guangdong

Slots: 80 individuals/40 teams

Format: BP

2.Daryl Isla from Philippine (Vice President of Ateneo, the most prestigious debate club in Asia/Broke twice in Australs/Judged in Semi-final in UADC)

3.TJ from Thailand (AUDC and ABP CA) pending confirmation

4.Valeri Inting from Philippine (Asian breaking judge/Trainer at ADI)   pending confirmation

5.Natalie Karam from Australia (Worlds Breaking judge)   pending confirmation

6. Alex Lam from Macau (Chinese Nationals Finalist, Australs ESL Runner-up, NEAO Semi-finalist)   pending confirmation

7.Kenneth Cheung from Hong Kong (Worlds ESL Quarter-finalist)   pending confirmation

Registration

Registration fee:

3 days of training + 2 days of tournament = USD$60 (without accommodation and food)

Only 2 days of tournament = USD$40 (without accommodation and food)

**We organization committee will then provide recommendation on accommodation.



Registration Schedule:
Phase One: OCT 12 to NOV 3
We would first grant slots to institutions registered in phase one.
First come, first serve. The rest will be put in waiting list.
Teams which successfully get the slots should finish payment before NOV 10, or the granted slots will be open to waiting teams in phase two.

Phase Two: NOV 10 to NOV 21
In this phase, slots of the teams failed to finish payment in phase 1 will be granted to the teams in waiting list. Payment has to be done before NOV 30.

Accommodation

Accommodation Policy

The registration does not include the fee on accommodation. However, the Organizing Committee would assist on the participants on hotel/hostel booking, once the participants paid the registration fee and applied by e-mailing to gdswin...@gmail.com. The application must be done before December.1st.

These are possible options of accommodation. However, you are welcomed to book accommodation on your own.

Price: 200 RMB for standard double-bedded room, per night.





Food

1.General

Canteen food would be provided. The price per person per meal is from 8-15 RMB.

There are also restaurants nearby and the price per person per meal is from 10-25 RMB.
