TO MY NOVATO FRIENDS:
I am asking you to vote on November 3 for the three candidates for the Novato Sanitary District Board listed below. It is time to clean up the District and restore local control over the Sanitary District. Also. if you support our cause, forward this e-mail to you Novato friends on you e-mail list and change my name to yours. We need your help because it is hard to reach many Novato friends is such a short time, John Quinley
The three "change" candidates will be listed on your election ballot as:
Bill SCOTT, Labor Management Consultant
Dennis WELSH, Retired Sanitary Plant Superintendent
Dennis FISWICK, Former Novato City Council Member and Environmentalist
The current Sanitary District Board has voted to hire a French company to operate the new 90 million dollar sanitation plant to take over the nine current employees who operate and maintain the plant. The employees will no longer be government employees but will work to the French Company. The employees and their supporters are for local control of the new plant. The above slate of candidates will better represent the residents of Novato. You can learn more about these candidates at http:/www.cleanupnovatosanitary.com
Ours is a grassroots movement to stop the privatization (outsourcing) of the Novato Sanitary District, The District has serious and severe problems. A joint FBI/EPA government task force raided Novato Sanitary District offices in May. A federal grand jury is conducting a criminal investigation into misdeeds by the District including discharges of millions of gallons of untreated and partially treated sewage into San Pablo Bay.
