Subject: River Run community garden

There will be a community work day on Saturday, Nov. 8th  to help prepare the half acre "River Run Community Garden" site for the winter. We are inviting community groups to join local residents and organizations on the site, help spread mulch and pull weeds, and celebrate with a lunchtime meal. Please forward to people you think would be interested in joining us.

The development of this "micro" garden, co-located next to a renter/owner condominium complex on City-owned land, is a newer model in providing opportunities for people to access and control their own source of food within walking distance of their residence. In this pilot period, many people and organizations have come together to learn from and develop this model, and it would be a great opportunity for students, community residents and City officials to get involved in the process.

If you do plan to come, please RSVP to me by Oct 31, and I will send you additional information on where to park and how to get to the site.
