Great meeting today, lots of ground work.

Thanks to all who attended today:

Anne-Louise, Feargal, Denise, Eddie, Aidan, Justin and me too. 

We bashed out a few things today, stomped over some old ground, just to make sure. We've made some pivotal decisions, and now we have actions to do before the next meeting on the 25th. Some really great ideas came out of today's session: Eddie suggests a 'tag cloud' for people to wear; Anne-Louise and Justin suggest people to be in charge of a 'stream' this can help with co-ordinating/delegating task of contact with speakers, choosing talks, curating the event. And much much more. Great stuff!

Below, I list what we did, what we have to do before the next meeting, and then the next meeting agenda. Next meeting hope you can make it: At the BIC 11-1pm, 25 August, Tuesday. However, if you can't make it you can help out on the new-improves multi-tab spreadsheet, see more about it below.

Done today:

• Armature of the day planned, time slots/shape of event (Thanks to Anne + Justin for driving this) 
• Streams sketched to 'maintain balance' (heather to put notes/plan online)
• Hashed out facilitation formats we will apply: presentations, panel, lightning talk, clinics
• We decided on a one-day event, rather than two. Fri or Sat To be determined pending consultation w/ out of towners. 
• Time 10-5pm w/ evening event hosted by Model, to be determined. 

Before next meeting:

• Put today's ideas on website: draft PDF of the streams/schedule. Heather drafting. 
• Have press release done. Denise drafting; she will distribute on GoogleDocs and prompt us for feedback
• Speak with regional OC people about preferred day (Friday or Saturday) Mayo, Derry, etc.

At the moment it's all on one spreadsheet. This is editable by anyone. Just click & go. 

You'll see there are TABS now. Yay TABS! I broke out the one spreadsheet into sub-topics on tabs, please jump in. 

• speakers: add people you think someone should contact
• sponsors: add people and companies for micro sponsorship €50; or larger sponsorship
• budget draft: just listed a few items we'd need
• venue logistical questions: anything else we should ask janette?
• promotion: places online to promote it, for visibility
• team: i took out 'team' names and put them on the list. sign up for what you can offer. we can work on this next meeting
• brilliant ideas: i needed to make a spreadsheet just to capture eddie's brill idea of the 'tag cloud' for people to wear. 

Next meeting:

At the BIC 11-1pm, 25 August, Tuesday

• Finance/sponsorship ideas
• Allocate who is approaching who
• Team roles; indication of time availability in months coming up
• Tracks - who is responsible for each 'track'; chairing, curating.

We're still struggling with the scope and goals to some extent. Since we're not doing a free-wheeling barcamp we have to be very clear on how we approach potential speakers. I think we can still discuss exactly who the event is for, and who we want to attract. 

If you have a chance, the goals and outcomes notes might be of interest, if anyone has a chance to add comments, etc. 

I'll be working again on NWX on Thurs :)

Did you get to check out the Spreadsheet? Well you might want to check it again, I added Anne-Louise's notes on the schedule there, 2nd sheet. Note: if you didn't see before, there are multiple tabs with all our notes.

Is anyone able to print these notes out? I'm one cable shy of a printer.

Remember today is the day we're signing up for tasks. If you can't make the meeting today, you might like to drop us an email and say if there is anything specific you can contribute, or anyone specifically that you have a connection with, and with whom you'd like to talk.

Last time we had it in the canteen itself, it was buzzing but not too loud.

Originally we thought we'd have it at CDI. We can meet in Canteen, get coffee and then see what the situation is.
