Rescheduled Neighborhood Walk This Saturday, October 4
The Office of Neighborhood Coordination (ONC) had to reschedule the Neighborhood Walk originally scheduled for Saturday, September 27 with the Onate Neighborhood Association. The Walk will now take place Saturday, October 4 at 10:00 a.m., starting and ending at Brentwood Hills Park, 2104 Chelwood Park NE. We will explore the surrounding areas, and discuss neighborhood development and safety. Participants are asked to dress appropriately for the weather, and leave four-legged pals at home. The Animal Welfare Department would like you to meet Jack, ID# A1918124, a 3-year-old brown Australian Cattle Dog mix. Jack is a sweetheart with excellent manners on his leash and off. He loves to be petted and is content to just lay down next to you, relaxing. He is also down for some walks and hiking. Jack is a delightful dog and deserves a good home. If you want to give Jack the loving home he deserves, visit him at the Eastside shelter. To view and/or adopt pets, simply drop by any of the open locations. Bernalillo County Hosting Free Tire Amnesty Day This Saturday
Bernalillo County is hosting a free Tire Amnesty event this Saturday, October 4 starting at 8:00 am. at the NMSU Bernalillo County Cooperative Extension Office, 1510 Menaul NW. A maximum of nine (9) passenger car or truck tires per vehicle will be accepted. No other trash will be accepted. Attendees are asked to remain in their vehicles until directed to unload their tires. NMDOT Seeks Input on Big I Operations Study
The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) is conducting an Interchange Operations Study for the I-40/I-25 interchange—commonly known as the Big I. Located near the heart of Albuquerque, the Big I connects two of New Mexico’s busiest highways: Interstate 40 and Interstate 25. This critical interchange serves tens of thousands of commuters each day, providing vital access to regional employment centers, educational institutions, shopping districts, medical facilities, and residential neighborhoods.
