BernCo Builds Communities: Good Neighbor Notice

Bernalillo County is the steward of a housing initiative coming soon to your neighborhood. As that happens, you will have the opportunity to partner with us in strengthening your community and reaffirming our shared goal of keeping it a great place to live. That’s what our “BernCo Builds Communities” mission is all about.

As part of this, the county is reaching out to you and your community regarding our concept of a “Good Neighbor Agreement.” It sets high standards for providers, residents, and even the county itself — always with the greater good of our community in mind. But the policy isn’t set in stone. You can review it, tell us what you like, and suggest how it could be improved. By doing so, you’ll help open lines of communication between us and ensure that you and your neighbors stay informed as the county moves forward with new developments.

To support this effort, we ask that you and your neighbors complete a short survey which can be accessed through the included draft. And if your association would like to learn more about the “Good Neighbor Agreement,” you can reach out to county real estate manager Ben McIntosh at bmci...@bernco.gov to schedule a visit and there will be a county staffed meeting at 5pm on November 3rd at Ace Leadership High School located at 1240 Bellamah Ave NW.

The current properties that are a part of this initiative are:

411 McKnight Ave NW (Ponderosa Place) which is a 90-day transitional housing program specifically for families.

2818 4th St. NW (Poblana Place) which is mixed income affordable housing apartment complex. Current residents will remain as long as they wish to and HUD fair market rates will be utilized to maintain affordability.

Sincerely,

Ben McIntosh
