Please set a reminder for Tuesday January 17th at 7PM to join our monthly chapter meeting.

weiss3.jpg Our speaker will be Dr. Christopher Weiss. Dr. Chris Weiss is a professor at Texas Tech University and has been a member of the faculty there for the past 18 years. Prior to this position, he earned his B.S. from the University of Michigan and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Weiss's talk is titled "Cold Pools: What’s the Big Deal?".

Where: Council of Governments (main offices), Centerpoint II, 616 Six Flags Drive, Arlington, TX 76011, and via Zoom
The meeting will be on the first floor in the “Six Flags Conference Room”.  There is a map up on the lobby screen as they enter. For reference, the room is in the front left corner of our offices (in Blue below).  The red boxes are the entrance to the building.
We will also have the meeting online via Zoom (details below).

Dr. Christopher Weiss presented and answered questions about "Cold Pools: What’s the Big Deal?", and how this is related to vorticity generation, baroclinic processes, and the PERiLS experiment.  About eleven attended in person or online.Those who missed the presentation may view a recording on Youtube at <youtu.be/JVhLtyX_xyc>

Our next meeting is tentatively scheduled for February 21st, 2023 at the NCTCOG. Anyone interested in volunteering at the Dallas or Fort Worth Science Fairs in February please contact us.
