First a word about our previous chapter meeting in March. Steven Martinaitis
and
Stanley Christmas, our current president and treasurer, announced they
will not be accepting nominations and election in May. Steve's new
responsibilities are taking more time and effort away from chapter
business. Stanley, after many years of service, is retiring as chapter

If
you are interested in supporting the chapter as an elected officer, or
know someone who might be interested, please let us know. We actively
meet about nine months a year, September to May. All members, please
plan to attend our chapter meetings, especially in May for chapter officer nominations and elections, as well as for other chapter business.
Please set
a reminder for Tuesday April 9th at 12PM (Noon) to join our April chapter meeting at the NCTCOG. The meeting will also be on Zoom Details are below.
Our speaker this month is
Doug Speheger. Doug is a lead forecaster at the NWS forecast office in
Norman, OK. The topic is on Advances in Wildfire Warnings in the Southern Plains.
Where: Council of Governments (main offices), Centerpoint II, 616 Six Flags Drive, Arlington, TX 76011, and via Zoom
The meeting will be on the first floor in the “Six Flags Conference Room”. There is a
map up on the lobby screen as they enter. For reference, the room is in
the front left corner of our offices (in Blue below). The red boxes are
the entrance to the building.
We will also have the meeting online via Zoom (details below).
Please support our AMS/NWA chapter. Those who have paid your annual dues, THANK YOU! Members can pay their $10 dues by mail. The membership application form (pdf) with mailing address is on our web site. Dues are waived for anyone under 18 years of age.
