to North Fork Birds
I must have not gotten the memo completely..... Peggy asked me to go to Dam Pond and I went. I didn't realize that the whole group that traveled to Honduras would attend and Lorena Rosales and Oliver Komar, the leaders of the trip. The group was delightful and I felt jealous....But it's the present and bird to be seen and heard. I miss my biotic ears, tho'. The were several warblers and I caught a glimpse of the BAY-BREASTED WARBLER. I haven't seen the species in years. Heard them, no see. There was one fury of birds which reminded me of the past, warblers and vireo everywhere but there was almost continuous action. MAGNOLIA, BLUE WING, REDSTART, COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, PARULA, YELLOW, PRAIRIE, BLACKPOLL and BLACK-THROATED GREEN. Other common migrants, TOWHEES, SCARLET TANAGER, RED-EYE and WARBLING VIREOS. An uncommon ALDER FLYCATCHER and the common GREAT CRESTED. WOOD THRUSH, too. The woods were alive.
