Hello,

My name is Leon and I am interested in old computer hardware among other things. I attended the Welcome Wednesday today at the Maker Space after finding out about it online, only stopping by for a brief reconnoiter. My intention is to learn to fix some old computer hardware I have, namely my Power Macintosh 8100/80AV and its Audio Vision CRT monitor which until recently were functional. The computer itself seems fine but the CRT seems to have ceased functioning. I sent lots of messages to local retro specialists and they said they wouldn't want to work on a CRT because of the high voltage, but one person recommended I attend a Maker Space. And this is why today I turned up at the Welcome Wednesday. The place seems very nice and everyone seems friendly. I will become a member and start coming along, and hope to make some new friends as well as teach myself some new skills and fix my old macintosh. I hope that will be alright!
