Virtual Hack or Die - OLD Computer Systems and Components:

Finally having a clear out of old computers! I've got lots of old Computer Hardware that I was gonna chuck, but I've reluctantly agreed to list it at the behest of a member.

It's hardware from 2003 to 2013 (and even 1 or 2 90s components), so please have realistic expectations.

Recommended considerations:

MIDI Tower ATX cases (a little battered) are nicely made - no sharp edges.  Some built like tanks and some light aliminium cases.

USB 2.0 SATA external enclosure may be useful to someone?

    PSUs can be repurposed

someone who REALLY wants an X86  fanless system maybe?

Old networking kit (5port or 24port Gigabit switches) may be useful to someone?

    4x 200GB SATA 7200RPM HDDs may take someone's fancy?

If anything is useful I'll pull it out of the place it is.  The rest is going to the skip quite soon!  (say one week for anyone who wants it to reply, then anything not wanted will go!)

Can drop off to the space or Newcastle/Gateshead surround on an evening (20:00-21:00) will arrange time with any takers!

Notes about systems

Item Note
System1 Successfully boots Ubuntu 24.04 (64bit), doesn’t support UEFI, Doesn’t boot form USB3.0 ports, does boot from USB2.0
System2 Successfully boots Ubuntu 24.04 (64bit), doesn’t support UEFI, Doesn’t boot form USB3.0 ports, does boot from USB2.0
System3 No hard disk (can nick from System 4), No Floppy, Quiet operation, 32Bit CPU Doesn’t boot from USB!
System4 No PSU at the current time. One can be found if desired. 4 Disks at current time - may be worth splitting if it gets more systems working! 32Bit CPU
System5 No hard disk (can nick from System 4), No Floppy, No Optical at current time Good for router? Quiet operation, but case full of degraded foam) 32Bit CPU Doesn’t boot from USB!
System6 Completely fanless design, not very powerful CPU, but has some HW codec decoding acceleration that was cutting edge and hard to get working at the time! Expect 32bit CPU
