Thanks but its a fixed current charger and doesn't do balanced charging. I.e
Looks at the state of each cell (or pack of paralleled cells) to ensure it's not developing a voltage difference from the other cells in the pack.

This charger will be for charging a pack that (hopefully) would already have have a battery management/balance controller built into it, as found in ebikes

I was more after a recommendation from somebody that might have such a thing and could see it from experience whether it is worth buying

I have a turnigy accucell 6, but it will only balance charge 6sS packs maximum.

Something cheap as possible
it will not get a great deal of use. It will be used to occasionally check and balance out 24 volt packs from a DIY "powerwall" which will get their regular charge from a solar MPPT charge controller.

So this unit will just be for charging up new packs to go into the system and periodic "maintenance" on existing packs

Indivudual 7S3P packs as plug in storage for a "24 volt" solar system

At the moment I'm in two minds as to whether to put BMS boards in every pack (could get expensive ) or simply have balance leads comimg from every pack into a monitorimg system.

Eith the layter sysyen i spy one pack getting out of tolerance I can pull it and charge it on a separate balance system and if it won't balance properly then rebuild or replace as necessary.

Whichever way I go I need something that can handle 7s just to help me build the packs together. I can balance charge all of the cells needed for a pack in a test rig and eliminate any problems before they all get spot welded together

What is the battery for?

I often see the combination of BMS and active balancer used for larger cell counts (e.g. those used in EV and bulk storage).
Perhaps this might be appropriate?

I couldn't really offer any recommendations, but this type of hardware comes up quite a bit on https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXJ7onrDcxo2zy8yAsxqwgg where some specific hardware and general installation/operation is shown.

Hi Everyone,
PSA: Glen mentions that the charger needs to balance the cells.  The type of charger needs to be one that has a cell balancing lead as well as a main charging lead. (Typically referred to as a 'smart charger').

Hi Glen,
As an alternative (some might perceive as sketchy, but I think you're game! :)), how about making up a 6S charge & balance lead for your battery, balance the first 6, then make another lead for the 7th cell and charge it individually on 1S?
