Are you a seabeast or do you know one? Is your name Hank? If the answer to either of these questions is yes, see below.

I'm not swimming it and I'm not sure I could even do the paddle support, but I do have a nice sit on top sea kayak that I am willing to lend out from Carlsbad.

Trevor King from Energy Lab Training is running this. Please contact him directly with any questions.

Enjoy,

Chuck Pateros

Seabeast Swim #3

Thank you to everyone who has participated in the Seabeast Swim Series. For those of you ready to swim the 5 miles from La Jolla Cove to Crystal Pier, the registration link is below. It is required that each swimmer has their own paddler to follow them for the entire swim. It's recommended that this paddler brings hydration and nutrition for the athlete. Xterra has once again generously offered to loan out SUPs for the event. If you need one, sign up quickly as they are first come first serve. Please sign up by Sunday, 8/17/14 WITH your paddler's contact information.

Paddlers will launch, together, from La Jolla Shores to meet up with swimmers at the cove. The swim will follow the coast on the outside of the breakers down to Crystal Pier in Pacific Beach. Swimmers/ paddlers are responsible for coordinating their own logistics for boat pick up (or just paddle back).

This is a non supported, free swim event and not a race. Your paddler is there to guide you and feed you. Please be prepared to maintain a 2 min/ 100yard avg for entire 5 miles. If you can't swim 4 miles comfortably, this isn't the day to try for 5. TCSD will be providing refreshments at the finish.

When: 7am on Sunday, August 24.
Where: La Jolla Cove to Crystal Pier, PB
Who: Registered swimmers with paddler only.
Why: Enjoy an epic swim down the coast!

We look forward to seeing you out there!

Cheers,

The Seabeast Crew
