These meetings are open to the public and free to attend. The meeting will be open-house style, and the public is welcome to come and go at any point throughout the 3-hour meeting. Representatives from DOE, and DOE’s third-party NEPA contractor will be present to provide clarifying information on the EIS and the proposed project and to hear your comments and input on the scope of the EIS. The public is invited to provide oral and written comments at the meeting.

Comments may be broad in nature or restricted to specific areas of concern, but they should be directly relevant to the NEPA process or potential environmental impacts. DOE will consider the comments received on the scope of the EIS during the 75-day scoping period, which began December 18, 2024, as it prepares the draft EIS.

The scoping period will close on March 3, 2025.  All mailed comments should be post marked no later than March 3, 2025. Comments will be accepted and considered to the extent practicable throughout the EIS process. However, commenters should be aware that their comments should be timely for them to be fully considered.

Sincerely,
TRC, Appalachian Hydrogen Hub EIS third-party contractor,
