Dear District 9 Community,
I was devastated to learn about the destruction of the City Park Bandstand to a fire early this morning. This historic Denver structure was originally built in 1929, and it has been the site of all kinds of entertainment for nearly a century, most recently for the free City Park Jazz concert series since the 1980’s.
As your council member, I am committed to supporting Denver Parks & Recreation, City Park Friends and Neighbors (CPFAN) and City Park Jazz as they work alongside community on restoration efforts.

Thank you to Denver Police Department and Denver Fire Department as they work through this investigation; in the meantime, let’s cherish our shared memories while rallying around the nonprofits, city agencies, and neighbors who - together - will restore this vital community hub for generations to come.
