Systems Administrator – Jacksonville, FL - 12 months

POSITION SUMMARY: This position is primarily responsible for technical implementation and on-going support of current windows servers. This includes coordinating IT services such as: administration, monitoring, security, architectural review, and integration efforts to assure initial and ongoing system and application availability, reliability and serviceability. The Systems Administrator – Senior ensures that system and application implementation, administration and on-going support are consistently managed as a service to the business community.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

·         Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 Server Operating Systems

·         Knowledge of Microsoft systems including, Active Directory and Exchange

·         Knowledge of daily Windows server administration, including system stability, integrity, and troubleshooting

·         Proficiency in upgrading of software and hardware

·         At least 3 years’ experience of Systems Administration in environments with at least 50 Windows Servers

·         Knowledge of the relevant computer systems, applications and equipment to provide customer support of technical terminology, concepts and applications.

·         Knowledge of network protocols including DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP.

·         Proficiency in upgrading various software and hardware platforms.

·         Ability to configure, install and support new servers.

·         Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

·         Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

·         Ability to establish goals, objectives, and work plans.

·         Ability to organize material, analyze a wide variety of facts and develop appropriate recommendations.

·         Strong understanding of advanced Microsoft Office suite applications.

·         Ability to manage multiple tasks

·         Ability to work independently or with limited direction.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology or related field OR 4 years of relevant experience OR a combination of college education and relevant work experience equivalent to 4 years.  

AND

• 4 or more years of experience administering various systems and applications.
