As some of you may know current Santa Rosa City Council member Gary Wysocky is running for the position of Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector for Sonoma County. The election for the position will take place on June 3rd. During his term in office as a Council member Gary led a successful initiative to move $1.25 Million dollars of Santa Rosa cities funds from the Wall Street banks into local banks and credit unions. He understands the need for municipalities to regain control of their finances by divesting from the Wall Street banks. It is for this reason that he has my vote.
A forum for discussions between Gary Wysocky and the incumbent David Sundstrom is scheduled for tomorrow May 18, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Community Baptist Church in Santa Rosa, at 1620 Sonoma Avenue. There are many questions to be answered in this race and we encourage you to attend to learn more about this important campaign for our county's chief financial officer. You may read more about these two candidates in the following PD article.
Gary Wysocky is in need of folks to post his signs throughout the county and will pay $10.00 per hour to those who are able to do this vital work. There is also a need for folks to make phone calls to various sites throughout the county to ask if signs may be posted on their properties, which also pays $10.00 per hour. If you are available, please reply to this email and I will contact Gary directly to make the arrangements.
Gary's campaign committee will also be conducting phone banking to the community this Monday-Thursday from 5pm-8pm at the North Bay Labor Council at 2525 Cleveland Ave in Santa Rosa. If you have time and would like to dedicate some energy to this campaign it would be greatly appreciated.
I have come to realize that the local politics are where we are able to exercise some level of change and I thank you for taking the time to read through this email and for considering casting your vote for Gary Wysocky on the June 3rd ballot.
To our collective best,
Shelly
